HOME OF THE 2010 MIDLANDS CUP AND LEAGUE (M2WN) CHAMPIONS
The men's section of Lichfield RUFC started life over 130 years ago. More recently the section has produced numerous representative players for Staffordshire, several players have been capped at Junior England level (Students, Counties and Colts) and two fully capped internationals in Simon Smith and Stuart Potter.

More recently the section has produced numerous representative players for Staffordshire, several players have been capped at Junior England level (Students, Counties and Colts) and two fully capped internationals in Simon Smith and Stuart Potter.
The club has figured strongly in the league structure since it began, starting life in the National League 4 North (Level 4) where Lichfield spent 12 seasons (still one of the longest ever club spells). Lichfield 1st XV having been promoted at the end of the 2009-10 season will be playing in Midlands One West (Level 6) during the 2010-11 season with the aim of moving up to Level 5.
The section runs three senior sides, a Vets (over 35) and a Colts. It is a club which offers rugby for players of all levels and abilities and is always on the look out for new members. For the more serious player club training is held on a Tuesday and Thursday evening (19:30 - 21:00) and fixtures for all sides are played on a Saturday.
The club has a fully qualified and very experienced club coach in Nick Sporcic who leads training and is responsible for the 1st XV selection. Nick is ably supported by a number of other players, backroom staff, team captains, managers and the men's section committee. Off the field the men are extremely sociable organising several section socials throughout the season, these present a great opportunity to have some fun which is a big part of the game. There is also the legendary "Tour" which takes place annually over the Easter weekend and always provides a great time and plenty of stories.
Lichfield are a club who aim to be inclusive in providing rugby for all but at the same time have a professional attitude to training and playing whilst enjoying the sport.
